Mother's Day Checklist
Want to wow mom on Mother’s Day? Use this checklist to help you plan a day she’ll never forget.
Four Weeks Before
- Ask mom if she has any special wishes for Mother’s Day and make a note of these
- Get in the Mother's Day mindset- search the web for Mother's Day contests and enter one!
- If you are going to be treating mom to a spa day, meal, B&B night, show, or concert, make reservations or buy tickets now
- Arrange/confirm childcare if you are hiring a babysitter
- Place flower order(s). If you are purchasing online, order now to avoid last minute fees. If you will be buying flowers locally, pre-order the bouquet from your local florist so they will be ready. If your plans include church on Sunday, consider getting her a beautiful corsage.
Two Weeks Before
- Create or buy a Mother’s Day card.
- Purchase or make gift(s) for her, wrap gift(s) and attach card.
- Schedule cleaning service or plan to clean the house with the help of kids the day before
- Plan to rent Mother’s Day themed movies
- Check with your local radio station to see if you can dedicate a song to her
The Day Before
- Pick up flowers on order or purchase flowers
- Send an e-card from the children to help them get ready
- Buy groceries to make breakfast, brunch or dinner
- Ask children to clean their rooms and finish all their homework. If they are stuck, free help may be available online from a live tutor.
- Ask children to help clean the house and detail her car today or on Mother’s Day as a gift
- Charge all batteries for cameras, phones, and camcorders
Mother's Day
- Put out flowers and gifts
- Fix breakfast for mom and serve her in bed or let her have a leisurely morning
- Have children tell her why she's a great mom
- Take pictures and video - post pics on Facebook
- Skype with grandmothers, other mothers, or her friends
- Read about the history of Mother’s Day online or watch a Mother's Day theme movie
