Special Interest

Travel by State

If you think that she'd enjoy travelling closer to home, you can buy her a subscription to a magazine based on state or region depending on her interests. For example, here in Texas there is Texas Parks and Wildlife magazine and Texas Highways magazine, both of which feature trips and tips for travel within the state. Explore the travel section in your local bookstore or search online to find your local or regional travel mags.

Travel Candle

Candles are an all around favorite gift - why not get her one she can take with her to illuminate her amazing travels?

Win with tins. Look for travel candles in metal tins that are lightweight and have a lid. As an additional benefit, you will give her more candle for her money, instead of paying for a heavier glass container.

After the candle has burned, she can use the tin can be used as a keepsake, reused, or recycled. As you may know, when travelling in remote parts of the world you don't throw anything away and look for items than can have multiple uses.

If she is backpacking across the globe she can use it to collect coins or stamps from different countries, as a container for personal items such as vitamins, hair clips, buttons or safety pins.

How to light her unique travel path. Look for candles with the same theme as her destination - so if she is going to Hawaii, find a tropical or beach themed candle. Going skiing in Colorado? Find a pine scented candle. Heading out to teach in Japan? How about a cherry blossom candle?

Important tip: For chemically sensitive women who are allergic to some man-made materials, try to find candles made of gentler ingredients like pure organic beeswax or soy. These candles often burn longer as well. Travel Tin Candles
