Homemade Mothers Day Gifts
When you make your mom personalized homemade mothers day gifts will make her feel like a queen for a day. It is easy with these free online tools. Kids love to help with these projects - get them involved!
Make Mom a Magazine Cover Model

Time: 5-15 minutes. Want to surprise her with her own fifteen minutes of fame? It is so simple! All you will need a picture of her in an acceptable format, (.jpeg is standard) and your own creativity. Choose a template:
Parenting Magazine has a simple template to create their cover look
Or use this template tool to build your own look and feel.
If she is camera shy, no problem, there are other options! If she became a mom recently, you can also make one for her new son or daughter. If she loves animals, and considers herself the mother of "fur babies", you can feature her canine, feline, equine or any other species she calls her own as the magazine stars. Here is one I made for the "mother" of two pugs doggies while I was housesitting for her.
For this cover I joked that her dogs started their own academic journal, the Journal of Pugology. You the cover can make it as simple or complex as you like.
Ideas for gifts: Print it on photo quality paper and frame it. Print it using Iron-On printer paper, and turn it into a custom t-shirt, pillow, or dishtowel, or whatever your imagination can dream up! Post it on her Facebook, My Space, or blog so she can show her friends.
Build Her a Beautiful Word Cloud
Time to make: 5-15 minutes. What is a word cloud? A word cloud is a cool, fantastic way to express yourself by making an eye-catching graphic out of multiple words. There are several word cloud makers, all you need is your imagination to create one. One of the most popular is called
Wordle.
My new favorite which is as sophisticated as a tuxedo is called
Tagxedo
which allows you to create an incredible picture or shape along with the words. All of the special features on Tagxedo are still free to use, so try it soon before they become a premium service. Just follow the instructions, pick descriptive, interesting words about her, and you'll have a one-of-a-kind unique graphic you can surprise her with.
Wow Her With a Word Search
Time to make: 5-10 minutes. A word search is one of the fastest ways to make a cute custom gift. This is an example of a word search I made for Mothers Day using words that are meaningful. I used a famous TV mom, Marge Simpson, and included names of her children, their ages, and words to describe her. This is very simple to do!

Start here and follow the easy steps.
You will need to provide the words, and then you will have the option to print out or save the word search you've created. Once you have finished, you can make a matching card with the same theme. For example, "I Searched and Found the Best Mom Around" Have fun. Warning! Creating these word searches is very addictive. :)
Ideas for gifts:After she has solved the word search you can: Print it on photo quality paper and frame it. Print it using Iron-On printer paper, and turn it into a custom t-shirt, pillow, or dishtowel, or whatever your imagination can dream up! Post it on her Facebook, My Space, or blog so she can show her friends.
Surprise! She's a Superhero

Time to make: 5-15 minutes. Transform your mom into a cartoon superhero by using the award-winning Marvel Comic
create your own superhero
site. I created this Supermom in about 5 minutes. When I finished creating her, I took a screenshot instead of signing in to create an account. You can do this too by just pressing the Print Screen button, opening MS Paint, and then selecting "paste". Do your best to make it look like mom and then put this up on the frig in the morning. She'll love it!
