Here are some hints to make it easy and foolproof:

Don’t rush. When you go to pick out the perfect dress, give yourself time to make the right decision.
Go longer. At or below the knee. Longer dresses are more classy, versatile and elegant and she'll be able to wear it anywhere. Maxi dresses have been in for awhile and will always be stylish.
Stay with one solid color. Better to get her a simple dress in one beautiful color. Patterns, stripes, and prints are nice, but will only complicate an easy decision.
Box it. Be sure to get a stunning gift box and keep the gift receipt, but don’t include it with her gift - you'll only need it for an size exchange. You know her style, you’ve had help from a personal shopper and maybe even her friends or family, so feel confident that you picked the perfect romantic present. Just like James.
